Dekfast Codes & Approvals

code and approvalsSFS intec’s Dekfast Products are Factory Mutual and Metro Dade approved for use in commercial roof systems for insulation and roof cover attachment to steel, wood, and concrete roof decks.

Roof covers are designed to protect roof insulations from expected hazards, such as wind and corrosion. They must also protect the other components in the roof assembly, such as the deck substrate, and most importantly, the contents of the building from weather for years. These materials are supplied in rolls, sheets, and light-gauge metal panels. These roof covers must be secured by adhesives or mechanical fasteners to insulation boards and deck substrates as tested. The SFS intec wide range of fasteners that are approved for specific roofing assemblies can be found in The Factory Mutual Approval Guide and its Supplements.

SFS intec has achieved extensive approval listings in all aspects of mechanical attachment of commercial roofing systems, including the following roof types:

BUR Roof Covers
Typically a multilayer assembly of felts, either glass or organic, adhered to mechanically attached insulation board by hot asphalt or coal tar bitumen.

Single-Ply Roof Covers
Typically one ply of a synthetic rubber or plastic sheet, or one or more plies of modified bitumen mechanically fastened through insulation, to the roof deck.

Metal Roof Covers
Typically one sheet of light gauge formed metal mechanically fastened to purlins or other structural support.
